Let’s Talk About It!
- What do you do to take care of your hair?
- How often do you wash your face? What kind of soap do you use?
- Do you ever paint your nails? What color is your favorite?
Let’s Read!
A long time ago, people didn’t have shampoo or conditioner. They used things like eggs and honey to wash their hair! In some places, people didn’t shower every day like we do. They thought it wasn’t good for you!
Listen and Learn!
(Teacher plays a short talk by a doctor about how to keep our skin healthy.)
Talk with a Partner!
One of you is a doctor, the other is a patient. The patient has a problem with their skin or hair. Ask and answer questions about the problem.
Example:
- Patient: “My skin is always dry. What should I do?”
- Doctor: “You should use lotion every day to help keep your skin moist.”
Homework:
Write an email to a friend telling them about a shampoo, lotion, or other product you really like. Tell them why it’s good and how they can get it.
Extra Fun:
Look online or in magazines for pictures of people with different hairstyles. Try to copy one of the styles!
