- What kind of music do you listen to?
Let’s Read!
Art has changed a lot over time. In the past, artists painted people and places realistically. Then, in the Renaissance, they focused more on beauty and emotions. Later, some artists started painting abstract art, which didn’t look like real things at all.
Listen and Learn!
(Teacher plays a short clip of an expert talking about how jazz music was important for social change.)
Talk with a Partner!
One of you is a tour guide at a museum. The other is a tourist. The tour guide explains a famous painting or sculpture.
Example:
- Tour Guide: “This is the Mona Lisa, a very famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci.”
- Tourist: “Wow, it’s beautiful! What makes it so special?”
Homework:
Write a short paragraph about how art can be powerful. Does art make you think about things differently? Can it inspire change in the world?
Extra Fun:
If you can, visit an art museum or watch a dance performance. Or, try making your own art at home!
