Hello! My name is Mali, and I live in a small village in Cambodia. One day, I was walking home from school when I heard a tiny meow. I looked around and saw a small, fluffy kitten hiding under a bush.
The kitten was scared and alone. I felt sorry for it, so I picked it up and took it home with me. I gave it some milk and food, and it quickly fell asleep in my lap.
I named the kitten Srey Meow, which means “Miss Cat” in Khmer. Srey Meow and I became the best of friends. We played together every day, and she slept in my bed at night.
One day, while we were playing in the market, Srey Meow suddenly disappeared. I looked everywhere for her, but I couldn’t find her. I was so sad and worried. I didn’t know what to do.
I went back home and told my parents what happened. They helped me put up posters with Srey Meow’s picture all over the village. We even asked our neighbors if they had seen her.
A few days later, a kind lady from the village called us. She said she had found Srey Meow! I was so happy! I ran to her house and found Srey Meow curled up in a basket.
I was so grateful to the lady for finding Srey Meow. I gave her a big hug and thanked her over and over again. Srey Meow and I went home, and we were never apart again.
