Lesson 1: My Favorite Things

Procedure:
Part 1: Introduction
- Introduce the concept of “favorite things” to the students.
- Ask students to share some of their favorite things orally.
- Write down their answers on the whiteboard or chart paper.
Part 2: Vocabulary Building
- Show pictures of various objects and introduce their names in English.
- Practice pronouncing the words together.
- Write the words on the board, grouping them into categories (e.g., food, animals, toys).
Part 3: Sentence Structure
- Introduce the sentence structure: “My favorite ____ is ____.” or “My favorite ____ are ____.”
- Explain the use of “is” for singular nouns and “are” for plural nouns.
- Model several sentences using the structure and vocabulary from the board.
Part 4: Guided Practice
- Provide sentence frames on the worksheet or board:
- My favorite food is ____.
- My favorite animal is ____.
- My favorite color is ____.
- My favorite toy is ____.
- Have students complete the sentences with their favorite things.
